NYTimes has taken the initiative and has recently presented defining profiles of 21 of 22 Democratic candidates for President. The profiles come from each cadidate's answers to the same 18 questions about the upcoming Presidential contest and their reason for participating in it. Despite many requests by the NYTimes, Joe Biden declined to participate given that he already has a substantial 10 point lead in many polls. So he needs to take on President Trump by himself.
The 18 Questions asked of each candidate.
The mix of the questions are as much personally revealing [see 5, 7,10, 15, 16, 17, 18] as they are politically oriented. What is surprising is how many foreign policy issues explored[3, 4,6, 8, 9, 15].
What is refreshing is the candid and informed answers to the policy questions. The Democrats have a formidable set of candidates given their personal awareness as well as being on top of the policy issues.

Click on the headshot of any candidate and get taken to 18 medium-size videos where the candidate answers each of the questions. Let me suggest that responses are interesting and revealing. Given the Trumpain world of alienation, anger and unrelenting deceit, this is a refreshing contrast. Too bad Joe Biden was not up to the test.
