Tom Friedman at the NYTimes has an absolutely great post on the toxic nature of the leadership in Afghanistan by Hamid Karzai. It appears the Obama Administration has gotten themselves tied to two “leaders” of very dubious value in MidEast and Terrorist politics[think Karzai and Netanyahu]. The key questions the Obama Administration has to answer are:
1) Can the US do better?
2) Is the cost of getting to better way too high?
3) What are Plans B and C given that 1) and 2) above are too costly, time constrained and otherwise infeasible?
Now if the GOP complained about this rather than NOPE-A-DOPING, then they would have a legitimate voice.
